WHAT IS MYKA DESIGNS JEWELLERY MADE OF?

Myka Designs Collection is true 'costume jewellery' which is made from base materials of brass, stainless steel and pewter . Our designs are then electroplated in a variety of precious metal finishes; rhodium, 18k Gold, Rose Gold, Antiqued Sterling Silver, Antiqued Brass, Antiqued Gold. Other materials we use are leather, glass beads, Swarovski Crystals and Semi-precious beads.


HOW DO I MAINTAIN AND CARE FOR MY MYKA DESIGNS JEWELLERY?

Although your Myka Designs jewelry is well-made, care should be taken. Being mindful of its condition will help keep it looking like new.

Many factors influence the wear and tear of jewellery including perspiration, perfume, hairspray, alcohol and medications consumption, body imbalance, stress, air pollution and others. These factors can provoke a chemical reaction in the metal finishes.

Crystals and leathers cannot tolerate any form of chemicals.

How often and how you care for your Myka will also determine its appearance and longevity. Nothing looks brand new forever, but with a little TLC your Myka Designs Jewellery will last you a very long time and get you many, many compliments!

To keep your Myka Jewellery looking its best:

  • Do not wear it while doing sports
  • Do not wear it while bathing, swimming, hot tub or at the beach
  • Put your jewellery on AFTER you have applied your perfume and hairspray and NEVER spray directly on
  • Minimize contact with lotions, bronzers, oils
  • Should your jewellery get wet, immediately dry off with a cloth
  • To clean your jewellery wipe with a damp cloth
  • Do not use jewellery or silver cleaners as they all contain solvents which will react with our finishes
  • Do not use ultrasonic cleaners or steam baths designed for jewellery
  • Excessive heat can also damage jewellery, do not leave jewellery anywhere in excessive heat
  • Please note that Crystals and glass beads are breakable
  • Cuff or hoop sizes or shapes should not be tampered with. Avoid bending to open or reduce them. This can distort the plating and damage the bezel setting of the stone.
  • Earring post and wires may become bent during shipping or use. Slight adjustments of the posts up or down will usually fix these issues. Posts are very small and delicate so use caution when storing earrings to prevent bending of posts. Euroback wires should also be handled carefully and stored either on their original earring card or in a jewellery box, to avoid crushing
  • When not being worn store you jewellery in a jewellery box, cotton or plastic bag and out of direct sun
  • Failure to follow these instructions may constitute abuse, misuse, or misapplication of your Myka Designs product.

OUR WARRANTY

At Myka Designs we stand behind the quality of our product. On rare occasions, your jewellery may be damaged or defective. Myka Designs offers a repair policy that is simple, convenient, and insures every piece of Myka Designs Jewellery with a limited TWO-year warranty against manufacturing defects and a lifetime service for repairs* (*repair charges outside of the 2 year warranty will apply)

Should you have a damage, please contact our customer service department ecservice@mykadesigns.com for a Return Authorization # and instructions.

The TWO-year warranty starts from the date of purchase.

Please note that we will honor our warranty regardless of where your Myka Designs was purchased.

Once your item is received, we'll contact you with an estimated timeframe of repair/replacement. And advise if there will be any costs associated. Although we will work hard to repair your item as soon as possible, please allow up to 4 weeks for any repair. Myka Designs shall have no obligation to repair, replace, or refund until the defective product is returned to Myka Designs. A replacement product assumes the remaining warranty of the original product or ninety (90) days from the date of replacement or repair, whichever period is longer.

The TWO-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects does not cover;

  • any surface damage that occurs to the metal such as scratches or dents
  • chips to the Swarovski Crystals, stones, beads or pearls
  • foil worn off Swarovski Crystals, Swarovski considers this to be normal wear and tear
  • plating worn off high abrasion surfaces, this is considered normal wear and tear
  • broken interlinks or connections caused by excessive wear and tear
  • any surface damage to plating caused by water, solvents etc.
  • earrings posts, clips and euroback wires which have been broken due to damage caused by owner
  • chains which have been broken due to damage caused by owner

The warranty is limited to repair or replacement only and is at the sole discretion of Myka Designs. In all cases we do our best to support our Myka customers with a fair and reasonable repair policy and as a service will always endeavor to repair(sometimes at a cost) a piece of Myka as long as we are able to do so and have the materials required.

EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS

This Limited Warranty applies only to products manufactured by Myka Designs Inc and which bears our brand name. This Limited Warranty does not apply to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, misapplication, or use of non-Myka Designs products.

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY AND THE REMEDIES SET FORTH ABOVE ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, REMEDIES, AND CONDITIONS, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MYKA DESIGNS SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL STATUTORY OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND WARRANTIES AGAINST HIDDEN OR LATENT DEFECTS. IF MYKA DESIGNS CANNOT LAWFULLY DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, ALL SUCH WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. MYKA DESIGNS IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM ANY BREACH OF WARRANTY OR CONDITION OR UNDER ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY. NO MYKA DESIGNS RETAILER, AGENT, OR EMPLOYEE IS AUTHORIZED TO MAKE ANY MODIFICATION, EXTENSION, OR ADDITION TO THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.


REPAIR CENTER

We apologize that your Myka Designs product is in need of repair.

Please follow these Return Authorization procedures:

You will require a RA# to return any items to us.

Return Authorization Procedure

  1. Contact our Customer Service Department for a return authorization number & instructions to return your items (RA number) ecserve@mykadesigns.com or 1-800-608-7703
  2. You will be emailed a RA# and instructions on how to return your item, follow the packaging and shipping instructions on the information provided
  3. Ensure that you include a copy of your receipt in the return shipment
  4. Write the RA# number clearly on the front on the package

**Please note that shipments sent to us without a Return Authorization # will be refused and returned to sender at their expense**

Upon receipt of your items, we will confirm if the problem is covered by our warranty and then we will repair or replace it for you as soon as possible. Please read the warranty registration information above for details of the repair policy. When possible, most pieces are repaired immediately, but some pieces may require up to 4 weeks.
